A new twist on holographic tinsel.
Holographic tinsel has been braided to form this sparkling new body material.

This product was reviewed in the December 2010 issue of the "Trout & Salmon" magazine in the "Tackle Shop" - "Fly Tying" section as below.

Veniard Pearl and Holographic Braid
"These new braids from Veniard are great for tying robust, flashy bodies on salmon flies. They are also suitable for bigger sea trout flies and even shell backs on river trout bugs and nymphs. Being flat in profile they are not bulky and so are easy to apply. If wound in touching turns they will form an even, seamless body.
There are two ways of achieving this. For a slim body, tie in at the head, run the braid along the shank, then cover with a layer of thread to the desired body length, ensuring an even base, before winding the braid in turns back to the head. Alternatively for a thicker body, tie the braid in at the head and wind in touching turns to the desired body length and then wind an extra length back to where you started.
While giving the same effect as mylar this braid is stronger, does not stretch and if pierced by teeth will not unravel. Try silver, gold, black, orange and pearl for salmon or sea trout flies, or for trout and grayling shrimp patterns try olive, orange and everyone's favourite pink."
