This fly is a traditional spider wet fly with a modern twist. Orange is major feeding trigger for grayling in particular as a species of shrimp that they feed on has a orange spot due to a parasite. The combination of the orange colour of the bead and the action that is produced by the hackle makes this a truly devastating fly. As the hackle is tied "butted up" against the bead it gives the hackle the springiness of a cock hackle with the movement of a hen hackle. Fish this fly down and across as you would with any spider pattern letting the river do the work.
